Maths help - ks2 Learning Objectives
Please follow the links below to discover the maths that your child is being taught in school from age 5 -11.
Maths education in the UK is controlled by the Department of Education , and the primary curriculum is laid out in the Primary National Strategy, which was implemented in 1999.
In 2006 the Primary Framework was renewed and maths teaching re-organised into seven strands with slimmed down objectives. The intention is to give a clearer sense of the important aspects of mathematics that need to be taught to children.
Although the National Strategies website has now closed, much information on maths teaching can still be found in the National Archives here.
